Becki Newton
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up in Guilford, Connecticut. Her parents are English and Czech origin. Her first stage appearances were in local theatres. European History. Newton in European History, who was a Penn school student was was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Newton following her graduation from Penn University in the year 2006, transferred in New York City where she got TV roles for organizations like Olive Garden. Newton played the role of Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 until 2010. Newton hosted the Official Ugly Betty radio show along alongside the co-star Michael Urie. She also appeared on ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours Webisode series. Ugly Betty ended in 2010 with 4 seasons of great success, allowing it to have a series-ending. In late 2009, Newton performed at the New York City Center Encores! show of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was directed by Jerry Zaks. Newton starred as Molly Gray opposite her real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton was a star in Love Bites, a television series. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer for the romance comedy. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC announced the pick up of the series in May 2010.However the show was cancelled due to Newton having announced her pregnancy co-star Jordana Spiro was contractually bound to keep her existing project My Boys (which had been then cancelled) and Chupack's decision to exit the show Love Bites was pushed back to mid-season.
