Scarlett Johansson is an American actress and singer. She was born in New York City, in the United States on November 22, 1984. Her work has garnered an acclaim in a diverse selection of genres like the genres of period drama, thrillers and action-packed adventures. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. Hunter was her twin as well as Johansson, were among the youngest kids. At the age of seven years old, she was auditioning for television commercials. Soon after she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later took classes at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to improve her acting skills. In Off-Broadway's play Sophistry she starred alongside Ethan Hawke at age 8 and then in North produced by Rob Reiner in 1994 she made her debut in film. Johansson was later seen as a character in Just Cause (1995) but her debut came in Manny & Lo (1996) which was a film about abandoned sisters who escape. The film, The Horse Whisperer, Johansson played a teenage victim of an incredibly tragic accident. In Ghost World, 2001 as the outcast teen Rebecca was a further boost to her profile. Renee Felice Smith started her career in entertainment at a young age. She was drawn to acting in her early years. Thanks to the encouragement of her parents Smith found her first role in the acting world in the age of 6. She starred in a TV commercial for Dannon yogurt. Much like many other new actresses, she chose to develop her acting skills through the stage. While she made her on-stage debut with Wildflower she also worked with various theatre projects in the USA. She studied at her first Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
